Hopick 2.2.0 — Summon Your Friends With @

by Hopick Team, Founders

For a long time, dragging someone into a conversation on Hopick meant hoping they wandered by. v2.2.0 fixes that with a feature people have asked for since day one: mentions.

Type @ and pick your person

@ works everywhere. In a post or a comment, type @ and start spelling a name. A picker suggests people as you go, so you don't need to remember exact usernames.

They get pinged. The person you mention gets a push notification that takes them straight to the comment. One tap, they're in the conversation.

Quiet when you want it. A settings toggle decides whether mentions ping you at all. If you'd rather not be summoned mid-afternoon, switch it off and catch up on your own time.

A refreshed community space

Club tabs are cleaner and easier to scan. And if you run a club yourself, you'll notice a small touch: the icon of a club you own now sits in the header, right where you'd look. It's a small thing, but it makes a space feel like it's actually yours.

Smoother all round

Pull-to-refresh behaves itself on both iOS and Android now, and posts read a little tidier overall. Small polish, but the kind that shows up every single day.

What's next

Mentions are step one of making conversations easier to start on purpose. Next up: a smarter home feed, richer posting tools, and a more personal profile. And performance, as always — every release gets faster, never slower.

Try mentioning someone you've been meaning to talk to. Then come tell us what you think on Discord.
