Hopick v1.0 — Where It All Began

Every app has a moment where it stops being an idea and starts being something other people can hold. For Hopick, that moment is now. On 28 September 2025 we shipped the first public version — v1.0 — and opened the doors for the first time. This is where it all began.
A place to write and share
The core of Hopick is simple: a place to put down what's on your mind. Write a post, attach a photo, and see it land in a feed that keeps loading as you scroll. You can edit what you've written, and your words drift down into a conversation as people find them. It's a small thing, but it's the whole point. A place people can fill with themselves.
React how you feel
Some posts you'll want to hold on to. Others you'll want to argue with. Hopick gives you four ways to react — like, collect, upvote, or downvote — and each one answers instantly. Nothing refreshes, nothing waits. Your feeling lands, and so does everyone else's, which keeps a feed honest.
Conversation starts on every post
Every post opens into a thread of comments and replies. That's deliberate. Sharing is half the point; the other half is the talk that follows. Whether you have one thing to say or twenty questions, there's a space that holds the back-and-forth.
Communities from day one
Hopick came to life with Clubs already in place. Create your own or join someone else's, browse the defaults, look across the regions of Hong Kong, or find people near you. From the first day there was already a neighbourhood to belong to, not an empty grid waiting for the first user. We wanted people to walk into something that felt built for them.
Made for more than one language
We shipped the app ready for a Hong Kong that speaks in more than one voice: English, 繁體中文（香港）, 正體中文（台灣）and 廣東話 from the start. Your profile gives you an avatar, a name and a signature to make it your own. Underneath sit the practical things you expect and rarely thank: a clean layout on iOS and Android, push notifications, and settings that put you in control of your account and your data.
The long road ahead
v1.0 is a first door, not a finish line. The road ahead is a long one — better comments, richer ways to discover, an app that gets faster and more personal with every release. This is the beginning, and we're still on the way.
